7/25/2026 – Chad, Drago, Seamus and I drove 1.5hrs from Milwaukee to Oshkosh WI for the EAA AirVenture Air Show – Adult $76, <18 Free. For the week of July 20-26, 2026, this was the world’s busiest airport!

We walked about 0.5mi to the EAA Aviation Museum for our entrance wrist bands

and then another 0.5mi to Exhibit Hangar D the International Federal Pavilion.

The National Parks Travelers Club (NPTC) has this airshow as one of its sites under the “All Parks” Category of 565 sites. The NPS had a booth there that was from the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park and manned by volunteers from Sinclair Community College, where they have an excellent drone education program. I do not believe this event (not a park) should be on the NPTC list.

We walked through the displays, exhibits, and viewed old, military, and new planes.

Had A&W Coney Dogs with Root Beer floats and then set up our chairs to watch the Air Show.

The aerial acrobatics were amazing but two hours of that hinged on boring. We most enjoyed the old (e.g. WWII) airplane, and other military aircraft flybys (e.g. F22).

Toward the end of the show, we visited the EAA Aviation Museum

There was a nice exhibit on the Lindberg “Spirit of St Louis” New York to Paris flight.

As we were leaving the parking area we saw the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows fly past the staging area for the Goodyear Blimp.

Sunday – BBQ Chicken Dinner!
